Natalia Chavez Taffur, “…two of my favorite past works which I did for the IB, where I explored female beauty and everything that surrounds them.
The painting was done using oil paint and acrylic paste. … it was my personal representation of how I feel that we tend to flourish in the face of vulnerability.
The other piece is acrylic paint on a crumbling board of concrete. This one I did as a comparison between our vision of constructed landscapes and our vision of different body landscapes, and the fact that we are so open to different shapes and forms when it comes to design and architecture yet seem to strongly reject different shapes and forms when it comes to the human body. Anyway, that’s why I placed the bodies along one another as if it were a city skyline and painted it on the deteriorating concrete.”
